Analysing software solution

The software is said to help dealing with torsional vibrations. These vibrations are a constant problem in propulsion and auxiliary machineries on ships. The system has to be studied carefully in order to prevent any failure. The role of classification societies is to ensure that all equipment has vibratory levels within the manufacturer’s and regulations’ limits. For example the classification society Bureau Veritas uses the “SimulationX” software for analysing these vibrations on vessels and other marine installations. The software is said to offer benefits of modular solutions as well as the possibility to profit of an open multi-domain-platform not only developed for one application. According to ITI, “SimulationX” can also be used for the development of energy-efficient and safe propulsions systems.

The current version 3.5 of the analysing and simulation software “SimulationX”, offered by the German company ITI, will be presented on this years SMM exhibition, taking place from September 4th to 7th in Hamburg, Germany.
