ABB wins first deal for performance software

ABB has won its first contract for recently upgraded engine diagnostics software. Hamburg-based CPO Containerschiffreederei has signed up for the latest version of ABB AbilityTM Tekomar XPERT, launched at the CIMAC Congress in June, for its fleet of 55 ships.
The upgraded Tekomar XPERT for fleet provides engine performance data from a fleet-to-vessel perspective, using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engine health, optimisation potential and fleet performance benchmarking. These KPIs provide a helicopter view of engine performance across an entire fleet regardless of engine make, type and age, the company said.
Tekomar XPERT is subscription-based software which can be integrated with a shipping company’s existing IT system. It has been installed on more than 1,500 vessels so far.
