Singapore yard Sembcorp Marine, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Marine Rigs & Floaters Pte Ltd, has won a US$3.05 billion EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract to build a floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). The order to construct the FPSO named P-82 follows an international tender from Brazilian oil and gas producer Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras).

The P-82 is the largest contract secured by Sembcorp Marine from Petrobras and will be one of the largest vessels to be deployed in the Buzios field, an ultra-deepwater oil and gas field about 180 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2026 with expected commercial operations in 2026, the P-82 will be the 10th vessel to operate in the pre-salt field. It will add a production capacity of 225,000 barrels of oil per day and 12 million m3 of gas processing per day.

Last week, Petrobras had already placed a US$2.8 billion FPSO contract with Keppel Shipyard in Singapore.
