SeaRenergy has embarked on a contract to provide logistics services for Siemens Energy in preparation for the commissioning of DolWin6, an offshore grid connection system in the German North Sea for the transmission of wind energy from sea to land. With a capacity of 900MW, equivalent to a large power plant, DolWin6 is scheduled to be connected to the grid next year.

SeaRenergy has responsibility for a range of functions, both on- and offshore. These include marine coordination and management of all personnel transfers; onshore logistics and warehousing in Emden; the provision of offshore installation managers, health and safety personnel, and nautical specialists; emergency response and rescue, and guard duties including helicopter transits to and from the grid connection project.

The company is also making regular supply runs delivering provisions and equipment to the platform and jack-up vessel. The platform supply ship, Spirit of Emden, is being deployed on these voyages.

The first stages of preparation for the project began earlier this year in March. They have been followed by other marine services just after the topside installation was carried out in September.
