Roxtec supplies cable seals for offshore wind farm
Turbines at the GBP 1.3 billion wind farm, which is owned by E.ON, the UK Green Investment Bank plc, and Canadian energy infrastructure company Enbridge, are still being installed. The 400-MW facility lies about 13kms from the Sussex coast and is expected to start producing electricity in 2018.
Roxtec has established a strong position in the offshore renewables market, having supplied components for more than 40 offshore wind farms in Europe. Roxtec UK managing director Clive Sharp said: “Roxtec benefits from extensive experience of sealing cables on offshore platforms. Our solutions are particularly well suited to this market because they are flexible and versatile. They can be used for many applications in wind turbines, from control cabinets to generators and converters. In addition, they are easy to install, inspect and maintain.”
