Italian offshore fabricator Rosetti Marino has won a contract for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) of an offshore gas production platform for Argentina. Platform delivery is scheduled for November 2023 and start of production is planned for 2025.

Work will include building the topside, jacket and foundation piles for the platform which will produce 10 million cubic metres of gas per day and will have a total weight of over 4,000 tonnes.

The EPCC order was awarded by a French/German/Argentine consortium comprising the oil companies TotalEnergies, Wintershall DEA and Pan American Sur. The contract follows a final investment decision of earlier this month. The Fenix gas field platform will be installed 60 km off the coast of Terra del Fuego in southern Argentina. As partners state, the gas field will contribute significant natural gas volumes for more than 15 years.

Rosetti Marino said that design work has already started at its Milan offices and that construction would start shortly at the Piomboni Yard in Ravenna.
