Project-management for FSRU

Italy-based RINA Group said it would deliver concept selection, FEED (front end engineering design), support during negotiations with potential shipyards, project management during construction, and support for commissioning for a new LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) terminal in South Sumatra, Indonesia.

The customer is PGAS Solution, a subsidiary of PGN, Indonesia’s largest natural gas distribution company, which will own and operate the FSRU. According to RINA, he unit will serve as a LNG-importing hub with a storage capacity of 170,000m³ and a regasification capacity up to 500 mmscfd (millions of cubic feet per day). The FSRU will be installed at Labuhan Maringgai Lampung in a water depth of about 20m, linked to the shore by a 21km-long pipeline. It is intended to enter into service in the middle of 2014.
