Offshore construction vessel starts completion phase

Illustration of the ACTA Auriga

The vessel, with 1,000m2 of deck space for cargo storage and hotel facilities for up to 120 persons, will now complete the outfitting process prior to delivery to ACTA Marine by the end of March 2018.
Now safely positioned in the shipyard’s sheltered drydock, the ACTA Auriga will undergo the installation of mission equipment, a motion-compensated gangway and 3D motion-compensated knuckle boom crane. The optimised hull will enable the vessel to operate safely across a wide weather window, with people and cargo transfer possible in significant wave heights of up to three metres.
On delivery, the ACTA Auriga will join its semi-sister vessel ACTA Orion as the second vessel in the family-owned shipowner’s fleet dedicated to walk-to-work offshore logistics and accommodation services. ACTA Marine operates a fleet of more than 40 vessels engaged in coastal infrastructure, offshore energy and construction support projects.

ACTA Auriga, a DP2 walk-to-work Ulstein SX195 construction support vessel with distinctive Ulstein X-BOW® and X-STERN®, has arrived at Ulstein Verft in Norway following the completion of hull construction in Poland.
