Eidesvik Offshore, together with partners Agalas, an offshore support vessel owner, and Reach Subsea, a geophysical monitoring specialist, has ordered a new construction support vessel (CSV) for deployment in the subsea and renewable sectors.

The new CSV will be similar in specification to a ship that is currently being built for Eidesvik and Agalas at Sefine Shipyard in Turkey. The ship, which will work in inspection, maintenance and repair in a five-year charter to Reach Subsea, will also be built at the Turkish yard. It will have a battery hybrid power arrangement and dual-fuel gensets capable of using methanol or marine gas oil as fuel.

The vessel, designed by NSK Ship Design, has an overall length of 99.9m, a breadth of 21m, and accommodation for up to 100 personnel. Equipped with a 150-metric tonne heave-compensated crane and a spacious deck area of approximately 900m2 it is well-suited for conducting IMR and construction work, Eidesvik said.

The CSV will be jointly owned by an entity owned by Eidesvik and Agalas, controlled by Eidesvik, and one third owned by Reach Subsea. It is another example of cooperation between the three companies: Eidesvik currently owns one vessel together with Reach Subsea, and another one with Agalas.

Eidesvik Offshore CEO, Helga Cotgrove, said: “Eidesvik is delivering on our growth strategy, and we are pleased to announce yet another expansion to our fleet. This vessel is designed to meet the demands of both the oil and gas sector and the offshore renewables industry, allowing us to capitalise on market opportunities in both these sectors.”

Delivery of the new vessel is scheduled for spring 2027.
