Navantia to construct an offshore substation

The contract with Spanish energy company Iberdrola is worth 65 million euros and an initial deal was first announced in October. The fabrication will begin in spring 2017 in Navantia’s Puerto Real shipyard and the unit will be completed in about two years with the installation of the structure in the North Sea, the shipbuilder said. Navantia has also been contracted to build 42 jackets for East Anglia One at its facilities in Fene, the company added.

Spanish state-owned shipbuilder Navantia said it has signed a final contract for construction of an offshore electricity substation for the East Anglia One offshore wind farm off Britain.
