Multi-purpose subsea support vessel

The multi-purpose support vessel designed by Sener

The Spanish engineering and technology group Sener says it is developing a multi-purpose subsea support vessel designed for ROV (remotely operated vehicle) light construction duties.

Able to accommodate 110 persons, the ship will have a length overall of 112m, breadth of 22m and draught of 7m.
It will incorporate two fixed-pitch (FP) azimuth main propellers with diesel-electric propulsion, two FP tunnel thrusters and one FP retractable azimuth thruster. The vessel is to feature a 40-tonne electric deck crane with an option for a 250-tonne crane and be able to work at depths of up to 4,000m. Other features include an integrated moon pool measuring 7.2m x 7.2m, a helicopter deck and an optional 600-tonne cable carousel. The main deck will be reinforced for heavy weights.
Developer of the CAD/CAM system Foran, Sener has focused particularly on the design of tugboats and offshore vessels during the past decade.
