Mooring solutions for a Vietnamese pipelayer

Cargotec mooring winch for the Vietnamese pipelayer

Cargotec won a contract from the joint stock company Vinh Nam (VAM JSC)/TECMACH  to supply mooring equipment outfits for Vietsovpetro's 110m-long by 30.5m-breadth pipelaying crane barge, "Con Son". The 1969-built vessel is currently undergoing a conversion at Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd.

As part of the conversion project, Cargotec will supply eight mooring winches complete with local and remote controls, tension and length-monitoring systems, hydraulic power packs, sheaves, and fairleads, as the company states. The mooring equipment is scheduled for delivery at the beginning of 2012 and will be manufactured at Cargotec's facility for offshore load handling in Singapore.

A contract for mooring equipment for a pipelaying barge opens Cargotec's entry to the Vietnamese offshore market.
