MMHE wins EPC contract for solar-powered offshore platform

Sarawak Shell Berhad has placed an order with Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB), for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of an offshore gas platform. The project will involve a topside unit, a 4-legged jacket and piles installed in a water depth of 140m.

The unmanned platform will be primarily powered by renewable energy largely using power from solar panels. It will be installed in the Rosmari-Marjoram gas project, off the coast of Sarawak.
