Launch of offshore construction vessel

Mounting of the heli deck

The 159.8m-long and 30m-wide 14,000-dwt vessel is jointly owned by Norway-based Island Offshore and US-based Edison Chouest Offshore, the latter will be managing the vessel. Ordered in 2013, the X-bow vessel is the largest ever built by Ulstein Verft so far.
It is equipped with two cranes that can lift 400 tonnes and 140 tonnes, respectively, and is also featuring a large moon pool. In addition, two smaller moon pools with ROVs are installed in a centrally located hangar.  Delivery of the Island Ventures is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015.
The second vessel from the 2013-order is being built at Edison Chouest’s own yard, LaShip, in the United States. The contract with the US yard also includes options.

The offshore construction vessel Island Venture was recently launched from the dock hall at Ulstein Verft in Norway.
