Spain’s Gondan Shipbuilders has won an order for another commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) from Edda Wind, a company established by Norway’s Østensjø, an offshore marine service provider, and Wilhelmsen. The ship will be number five in the CSOV series and the seventh vessel for renewable energy development ordered by Edda Wind at the shipyard.

The CSOV, which will be built to a design developed by Norway’s Salt Ship Design, is due for delivery in 2024. Like other ships in the series, it is designed ready for adoption of a hydrogen-based propulsion system, enabling it to operate on a zero-carbon basis and undertake emission-free renewable energy installations in the future.
