Map of the Irish Sea Zone

The British energy company Centrica, a Celtic Array Limited partner, has awarded a contract to GL Garrad Hassan, the renewable energy consulting business of the GL Group, for the design, supply, installation and operation of an offshore meteorological mast system for its Celtic Array wind farm project in the Irish Sea.

Located 15km north of Anglesey, the system includes a meteorological mast, power supply system, navigational aids and full suite of measurement equipment.
Celtic Array Limited is a 50/50 joint venture of Centrica Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Centrica plc, and DONG Energy Wind Power Holdings. Both companies are working together to establish various projects in the Irish Sea zone on a 50/50 basis with construction management of the projects alternating between the parties. For the first project under Centrica’s management, a final investment decision is expected in 2016.
