Fourth consecutive rig ahead of schedule

The jack-up rig was christened "Rowan EXL-IV" and is scheduled to depart Keppel AmFELS' yard in Brownsville, Texas in October 2011.

Besides the four EXL rigs completed by Keppel AmFELS, Keppel FELS in Singapore has delivered three North Sea compliant N-Class jack-up rigs to Rowan. The latest of these, the "Rowan Norway", was delivered in July 2011.

The ABS-classed EXL jack-up design is an enhancement of the LeTourneau Super 116E model. The "Rowan EXL-IV" employs state-of-the-art technology to drill high-pressure, high-temperature and extended-reach wells worldwide. The rig is capable of operating in water depths of 106m or more, and drilling to a depth of 12,100m.

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a wholly owned US subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, has delivered its fourth EXL jack-up rig to a subsidiary of Rowan Companies, Inc. with four months ahead of schedule and within budget.
