Fleet expansion for Seacat Services

Seacat Services has taken up its option for a second offshore support vessel (Source: Seacan/Chartwell Marine)

British offshore energy support vessel operator Seacat Services has confirmed its option to build a second multimillion-dollar catamaran for the offshore wind sector with British yard Diverse Marine. The option was taken with the initial order for the first vessel placed in April this year.
The type Chartwell 24 vessel, named Seacat Rainbow, was again designed by British marine architects Chartwell Marine and will enter construction immediately at the Isle of Wight shipyard of Diverse Marine. Seacat Rainbow will join the sister type Chartwell 24 vessel Seacat Weatherly, which is currently in build at Diverse Marine and due to be completed in April 2020. The Seacat Rainbow will be identical in specification to Seacat Weatherly, including a number of innovations to optimise the safety of crew and cargo transfers, and to maximise performance and technical availability of the vessel.
