First ESV unit at COSCO Nantong shipyard launched

Launch of ESV onto the barge

ESV™ units are self-propelled jack-up well intervention vessels. The design is optimized for water depths up to 100 m. Each ESV unit (a second one is currently under construction at Yantai Raffles shipyard) combines as Remidial states, capabilities of a jack-up platform, an ocean-going vessel, a workover drilling rig, heavy-lift cranes and an offshore accomodations platform in a single package.
At COSCO Nantong shipyard the ESV was launched onto a barge, so that three thrusters can be installed and further work can be continued prior to moving the unit to another COSCO shipyard where the remaining sections of its legs can be installed. After sea trials the delivery is planned for March.

Remedial Offshore, one of the international offshore technology leaders, has marked the launch of its first Elevating support Vessel (ESV™) at the COSCO Nantong shipyard.
