Equipment contract for three PSVs

Two of the units will be built for Atlantic Offshore, the third vessel will be delivered to Remøy Shipping. All PSVs will be constructed at Kleven Maritime AS shipyard in Norway. The two 90.4m-long and 20m-wide type VS 485 PSV MKIII L vessels for Atlantic Offshore will be powered by four Wärtsilä 9L20 engines and the maximum speed is said to be 15.3 knots. Accommodation is offered for 25 persons. Wärtsilä will also supply electrical and automation systems, including the company’s low loss concept (LLC), a highly redundant diesel-electric system to provide additional reliability for continuous operation in various failure modes. An integrated automation system (IAS) will be also delivered, including the Wärtsilä ECOmeter. Both units will meet the IMO's most stringent requirements regarding emissions of NOx, Wärtsilä said.
The bigger type VS 4412 DF newbuilding for Remøy Shipping will be 92.5m long, 20m wide and 15.2 knots fast. Accommodation is offered for 26 persons. It will use liquefied natural gas (LNG) for powering the engine. All three ships will be operated by the oil and gas company Statoil. Wärtsilä's equipment deliveries will begin in autumn 2013, and the newbuildings are scheduled to be operational by the end of 2014.

Wärtsilä, the provider of marine solutions and services, announced a contract to supply the ship designs for three new platform supply vessels (PSVs).
