EPCIc modification project for Kvitebjørn pre-compression
The EPCIc-contract (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation & commissioning) involves modifications to the Kvitebjørn platform to improve its compression capacity. The contract also includes modifications to Kvitebjørn for tie in of the future Valemon Platform. Bergen Group Rosenberg shall perform project-management, engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the new facilities integrated on the Kvitebjørn platform. Installation of the modules will take place during spring/summer of 2013 and project completion is scheduled for Q1 2014.
The project will be executed jointly with Fabricom AS who is a main partner to Bergen Group Rosenberg through all phases of the project. The project will be mobilized immediately at the facilities of Bergen Group Rosenberg at Buøy, Stavanger. All onshore activities are planned to be performed from Stavanger. This is considered a significant advantage for efficient project execution.
The Kvitebjørn Field is a gas field located about 130 km west of Sognefjorden in block 34/11, close to the Gullfaks field on the Norwegian continental shelf in the North Sea. Kvitebjørn is built with a fixed platform with a steel jacket and is fully integrated with drilling facilities, processing facilities and living quarter. Water depth in the area is around 190 meters.
Kvitebjørn was installed in 2003 and Production started in 2004. The reservoir is about 4000 m deep.
