Delivery of biggest liftboat in Qatar

Abdulrahman Essa Al-Mannai, president and CEO of Milaha, and Vivek Seth, CEO of Halul Offshore Services Co – both Qatar-based companies – recently attended the vessel's launch and naming ceremony at the shipyard of Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co Ltd in China's Liaoning Province.
Named Milaha Explorer, the newbuild is said to be the biggest liftboat owned by a Qatari company. It has a large deck area, variable load capacity and can accommodate 300 persons. Milaha said the liftboat’s capabilities would enhance the company’s diverse portfolio of offerings to the offshore oil and gas sector, particularly in support of clients’ brownfield operations.
Milaha Explorer was designed by the China-based Tianjin De-sail Machinery Equipment Co, Ltd.
