Conversion of another bulker into floating power ship

Karpowership currently operates nine floating power stations (Illustration: Karpowership)

Brokers say Karadeniz Denizcilik has bought the Japanese-built bulk carrier Kohyohsan for a conversion project. Karadeniz Denizcilik has been purchasing more bulkers recently, taking advantage of low prices following the continued depression in the charter market. Karadeniz’s subsidiary Karpowership currently operates nine floating power stations in Iraq, Lebanon, Ghana, Pakistan and Indonesia. The Karadeniz vessels are designed to meet urgent electricity needs and are more related to traditional ships than other floating power platforms.

Brokers say Turkish floating power station operator Karadeniz Denizcilik has purchased another bulk carrier for conversion into a floating power ship.
