Construction start of Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm

Cutting of the first sod for Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm was marked by the departure of a monopile from Grenaa port

Located between Djursland and the island of Anholt in Kattegat, the overall capacity of the Anholt wind farm will be 400MW, equalling approximately 4% of Denmark’s total power consumption based on CO2-free power. The Anholt offshore wind farm will consist of 111 wind turbines on an area of 88m2, 15km from shore. The wind turbines will be erected in water depths of 15 to 19m, and they will have a rotor diameter of 120m.
DONG Energy has chosen the Port of Grenaa as base for the project; both for the construction phase and for future operation and maintenance of the wind farm.

The Danish company DONG Energy recently officially started the construction of what it said was Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm.
