Belgian specialists win offshore transformer platform contract

The two Belgian companies ENGIE Fabricom and Iemants, part of Smulders Group, have jointly won an order from TenneT TSO B.V. to build an offshore substation platform of 1,650 tonnes for the wind farm Hollandse Kust (Noord) in the Dutch North Sea. The joint venture is also the preferred contractor for TenneT’s next offshore projects, the Hollandse Kust (west) Alpha and the Hollandse Kust (west) Beta platform. The scope of work covers the design, engineering, production, delivery, transport and installation of an unmanned offshore platform for the wind park. The topside unit of the platform will measure 47 meters long, 35 meters wide and 25 meters high.
