The Hamburg publishing house DVV Media, which owns the leading maritime specialist magazines Schiff&Hafen and Ship&Offshore, has launched the databank New Ships Orderbook, offering extensive and detailed information about international shipbuilding contracts.

The new easy-to-use databank provides a research, analysis and reporting tool delivering concise and rapid access to about 7,700 ship data positions. These include confirmed shipbuilding orders, unconfirmed contracts, planned newbuilding projects or market rumours. The user receives an overview of the current status of the order, technical details and the likely ship delivery date among other information. The data can be sorted and presented according to various categories including project status, ship type, construction yard, vessel capacity, technical features or delivery date. Users of the New Ships Orderbook will profit from a high level of user-friendly features, which can be adapted to personal requirements. Detailed technical search questions can be saved and called up for re-use at a later time. Individual data sets can be marked as favourites and so can be easily monitored with a single glance. The data bank also offers an alert function enabling the user to automatically receive alerts by email about new orders the user has defined in specific categories. An additional attractive feature is the export function, which allows the downloading of search results for further processing. Individual notes about specific shipbuilding projects can also be saved. The archive contains details and contact data of about 700 yards and also about 1,800 companies in the maritime industry including shipping lines, charterers, ship managers and ship finance companies. The data pool in the New Ships Orderbook covers about 95% of current worldwide shipbuilding contracts and is updated twice a week. The New Ships Orderbook can be tested free for two weeks.
