Contract for delivery of a Havyard 832 L PSV

Havyard 832 has defined a new segment of medium sized PSVs and offers higher cargo capacities, better flexibility, better sea keeping abilities and lower fuel consumption, as the shipbuilding enterprise states.
 
Supply Service from the Faroe Islands, management company for several companies within the Sjóborg group, has ordered the PSV new building. The ship is to be delivered in August 2011 and will be built at Havyard Leirvik AS in Norway. Supply Service has since delivery of the first Havyard 832 PSV "Eldborg" gained experience and has provided useful input to Havyard Design in the process of developing the Havyard 832 L.
 
Havyard 832 L is a further development of the previously designed and delivered Havyard 832s. The vessel type  832 L is a large medium sized PSV with a length of 86 m, well equipped for offering most types of service and supply work required by the offshore oil industry. In addition to large, flexible cargo capacity the Havyard 832 L will be equipped for oil recovery (NOFO 2009), stand-by /rescue services and Fire Fighting (FiFi). The supply ship of 4,200 dwt offers a deck area of 900 sqm and accomodation for 24 persons.
 
In addition to Havyard Leirvik building the vessels, several other companies within the Havyard Group will deliver products and services to the project. Havyard Design will deliver basic design and calculations and Havyard Steelcad will deliver detail engineering and workshop drawings. Havyard Elektro will deliver electrical installations and electric systems. Havyard Powertec will be responsible for electrical engineering and Havyard IASTM integrated automation system. Havyard Ship Services will follow up building of the steel hull in Turkey and service the vessel in the warranty period using Havyard Life Cycle PortalTM.
