Another cruise vessel ordered in Italy
A contract has been signed with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the construction of a 3,700-passenger ship for Costa cruises, part of Carnival Corporation. The cruise liner is scheduled for delivery in October 2014.
The contract with Fincantieri continues the company's longstanding and successful relationship of Costa Cruises with the Italian shipbuilder, which dates back nearly 20 years. The new Costa ship order is subject to financing. With a gross tonnage of 132,500, it will be the largest Italian cruise ship, as shipyard Fincantieri states. Additional design and itinerary details for the new vessel will be announced at a later date.
