Wärtsilä amalgamates Voyage and Marine Power divisions

Wärtsilä is to integrate its Voyage business, formerly Transas and acquired by the technology group in 2018, with its Marine Power business unit. The two divisions will be combined by the end of the year and the financials of the Voyage business will be consolidated into the Marine Power division’s figures from January 1st 2023.

The consolidated division will be headed by Hannu Mäntymaa as president. He will succeed Sean Fernback who is leaving the company.

Mäntymaa will join the company’s Board of Management during the integration process, continuing as head of the Voyage business unit following the newly integrated setup from January, the company explained.

President and CEO of Wärtsilä Corporation, Håkan Agnevall, said: “By linking the unique digital expertise in Voyage with our well-established Performance Services, we take the next step in creating end-to-end digital solutions for maritime customers.

“With this offering we can further optimise marine operations for lower costs and reduced emissions,” he continued. “Customers can benefit from Wärtsilä’s unique set of capabilities, combining the optimisation of vessel operations with ports traffic management and performance-based services for port-to-port operations.”
