Wärtsilä acquires Ships Electronics Services Ltd and strengthens UK service support

The Rochester-based company also provides installation, maintenance and repair services in the commercial and leisure marine sectors. It has nine other offices in the UK and generates a turnover of about GBP 10 million a year.
Tamara de Gruyter, Wärtsilä Marine’s vice president, Europe and Africa Area, said: “Wärtsilä has a long history in providing electrical and automation services in the UK. The acquisition strengthens our in-house service competences and local coverage. We are able to support our customers even better with a full range of electrical, automation, navigation and communication services.”

Technology and automation group, Wärtsilä, has acquired UK navigation and communication electronics company, Ships Electronics Services Ltd.
