Part of the company’s modernisation programme has involved the introduction of more sustainable processes where possible. New energy-efficient boilers have been installed, 500m2 of solar panels now provide 20% of the facility’s electricity demand, and the insulation of old buildings has raised their energy efficiency.
Peter Vickers, managing director of the family-owned business and the fifth generation to run the enterprise, said: “We believe that Vickers Oils holds a worldwide reputation for our innovative produce technology and for the reliable service we offer. The investment in our R&D and manufacturing capability will enable us to stay ahead of growing and changing customer demand, whilst also reducing our environmental impact.”

A new research and development laboratory, together with an upgrading of existing research facilities, have been completed by Vickers Oil, a UK-based developer and producer of high-performance, environmentally acceptable lubricants for shipping, textile and other industrial sectors. The new R&D laboratory is part of a four-year project to modernise and extend the company’s facilities.
