Torsten Buessow appointed to head Transas
Torsten Buessow will head the Transas business, which became a member of the Wärtsilä companies in May 2018

Buessow, who will report to Joonas Makkonen, VP of Voyage Solutions at Wärtsilä, has spent more than ten years at DNV GL where his positions included vice president of the Maritime Software Business Unit and vice president of Fleet Performance Management.
“I am looking forward to leading the professional and experienced Transas team,” Buessow said. “We will continue to focus on creating solutions to improve ship and port operations and maritime academies by leveraging the latest technologies, including machine learning, big data analytics and other innovations.”
