SEC Groningen acquires Ridderinkhof Winches

In an all-Dutch transaction, SEC (Ship’s Equipment Centre) Groningen has acquired Ridderinkhof Winches.

SEC says the deal creates a valuable strategic opportunity for its products and services programme. The company is an international manufacturer of winches, anchors and mooring equipment, particularly for customers in commercial shipping and navies. Under its own brand, Ten Horn Winches, SEC produces a wide range of what it describes as efficient and user-friendly winches that are built especially for anchor and mooring purposes.
Ridderinkhof, for its part, has been focusing on heavy-duty winches for workboats (tugs, dredgers, etc.) and fishing vessels since 1900. For these segments, Ridderinkhof operates an extensive service network. SEC will now carry both brands from its existing offices.
SEC Groningen is part of CIG (Central Industry Group), a globally operating, Groningen-based industrial conglomerate active in shipbuilding, architecture and renewable energy.
