Netherlands-based crane and heavy-lift specialist, Huisman, has announced the appointment of David Roodenburg as CEO. Together with his sister, Charlotte, who has responsibility for New Build Sales, David represents the third generation of Roodenburgs who have owned and managed the company since 1980.

The existing CEO, Theo Bruijninckx, will continue in his role as the company’s CFO. Appointed CFO in 2017, he was made CEO eleven months later, charged with preparing the company for the next generation of the Roodenburg family.

Joop Roodenburg, the company’s president who has run the company since 1990, will take an advisory role, focusing on the continuous development of step-changing technical solutions including inspiring engineers, new business opportunities, tenders, relationships with key clients and supporting the company’s management team, the company said.

“I am very proud to hand over the company to my son, David, as CEO of Huisman just as my father handed over the company to me,” said Joop Roodenburg. “I am confident that David, together with the company’s management team, will lead the company forward and that the company will remain the leader in heavy construction equipment.”
