New general manager for Schottel Inc

Aucoin has 15 years’ experience in various maritime positions, most recently as an account manager in Wärtsilä’s US operation with responsibilities including new business development and after-sales service in the offshore market.
He takes over from Nils Moerkeseth, long-time general manager of Schottel Inc who has overseen significant growth in the company’s market share and an almost tenfold rise in turnover. Moerkeseth will stay on as executive chairman.
Aucoin’s experience is directly relevant to Schottel’s strong and growing presence in the North American market. The company established a new sales office in Quebec City early last year to service Canadian customers as well as US companies operating in New England and the Great Lakes. Aucoin holds a master’s degree in business administration.
The Schottel Group is headquartered in Spay/Rhine, Germany, and is a leading manufacturer of propulsion systems with power ratings up to 30 MW, and steering systems for ships and offshore units. The company has about 100 sales and service locations around the world.
