New engine and turbocharger partnership to offer lifetime service
ABB Turbocharging, Hyundai Global Service (HGS) and Hyundai Heavy Industries’ Engine & Machinery Division (HHI-EMD) have launched a new partnership to provide a long-term service setup covering engines and turbochargers.
The three-way agreement also covers data sharing, enabling the partners to maximise engine efficiency and reduce operating costs for customers. HGS will have access to ABB’s global network of turbocharging service stations whilst HHI-EMD and ABB will also cooperate on the development of upgrades to existing HiMSEN four-stroke engines to improve efficiency.
ABB Turbocharging head of Global Service, Roland Schwarz, said that the relationship with HGS and HHI-EMD would enhance service options for ABB turbocharger customers. “Through dedicated offerings, leveraging our global network and sharing data, we are supporting HGS to provide top-quality service for our products,” he said.
Lee Ki Dong, CEO and president of HGS, commented: “The agreement with ABB Turbocharging means that HGS becomes a one-stop service company covering both engine and turbocharger service. We are delighted to enter this partnership with ABB, which enables us to offer even better value to our customers.”
