New CEO named for Rolls-Royce Power Systems

Andreas Schell will be the new CEO of Rolls-Royce Power Systems

Schell will join Rolls-Royce later this year, reporting to chief executive Warren East, and take up his new position on January 1st 2017. He succeeds Dr Ulrich Dohle, who is retiring.
London-headquartered Rolls-Royce describes Schell as having a wealth of international leadership expertise, running large, complex organisations involved in high-technology engineering across a number of sectors including aerospace and automotive in Germany, the UK and US. He has experience in operational transformation programmes, strategy and the development of new business models, products and markets. He will work alongside Dr Dohle until the end of the year to ensure an effective transition, Rolls-Royce says.
A German citizen, Schell is currently vice president for digital strategy at US-based UTC Aerospace Systems, with responsibility for creating new digital tools and services. He began his career as a development engineer at Daimler-Benz in 1996. He has an MBA from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a specialisation in energy systems engineering, from the Technische Universität Clausthal in Germany. Schell is a member of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and the US-based Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Rolls-Royce has appointed Andreas Schell as chief executive officer (CEO) of Germany-based Rolls-Royce Power Systems.
