MAN and Wallem sign global service agreement
MAN PrimeServ is to provide a global service capability for more than 580 components on board ships managed by the Wallem Group, including tankers, container ships, bulk carriers and vehicle carriers. The after-sales service subsidiary of MAN Energy Solutions will provide services to all Wallem offices and manage the contract from Hong Kong through a network of more than 100 PrimeServ hubs worldwide. The contract covers spare parts and service for main engines, generators and turbochargers.
Wallem Group CEO, Frank Coles, commented: “Our strategic partnership with MAN Energy Solutions comes as a part of our commitment to provide world-class customer service around the globe and deliver advanced technology-driven solutions. With MAN maintaining vessel engine systems, we can ensure a high level of safety, reliability and asset utilisation.”
Speaking for MAN Primeserv, senior vice president, Per Rud, said that the agreement would build on the foundation of a strategic partnership, developing sustainable value for Wallem through transparency and trust. “Through this agreement, MAN offers a holistic life-cycle approach for Wallem’s fleet that includes knowledge sharing and technical support, fleet maintenance planning, procurement forecasting and budgeting.”
