FSG strengthens management team

German shipbuilder Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) is continuing to expand its management team with the appointment of two new experienced shipbuilding executives.

Carsten Treuer is the new head of Operations and Bernd Liedtke is now head of Sales.

Treuer, 56, has wide international experience of shipbuilding in China, Japan, Greece, Brazil, Bangladesh and Uganda. He sees his initial priority as the alignment of his division with market requirements and the shipyard’s future portfolio. “The first thing now is to set the right priorities in the operational organisation,” Treuer said. “This concerns all areas, from planning and production to materials management, quality management and IT.”

Meanwhile, heading the sales team, Liedtke, 57, has broad experience at various north German shipyards including Nobiskrug, thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and Lürssen Shipyard. He has worked in procurement, project management, and superyacht sales. High on Liedtke’s priority list is the already announced expansion of the shipbuilder’s product portfolio and the advancement of sustainable technologies across its product range. “FSG has already carried out market analyses, so for me it is now a matter of getting a comprehensive picture of the products as quickly as possible so that I can use this knowledge to approach the market,” he said.
