Filtration Group completes acquisition of Mahle industrial filtration business

It had been announced in August that Chicago-based Filtration Group Corporation would acquire the business. That transaction has now been approved by antitrust authorities and closed across all countries in which Mahle's industrial filtration business operates, Filtration Group announced, saying the acquisition added filtration capabilities in industrial filtration across a variety of applications including industrial air filtration, process filtration, hydraulics and fuel separation and replacement elements.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price of the transaction, which expands Filtration Group’s presence globally by adding over 900 employees with "world-class" production facilities in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Romania, the United States, Japan and China.
“The addition of Mahle industrial filtration products, capabilities and competencies to our portfolio of advanced filtration solutions is a great fit for us strategically,” said Steve Felice, Filtration Group CEO. “This will give customers more choice and flexibility in how they can utilise filtration to make their environments cleaner, safer and more productive.”
Industrial filtration products, which are needed in areas such as industrial installations as well as food and beverage production, have very little in common with the core business of the Mahle Group, which focuses primarily on mobility and supplying the automotive industry. “That's why we're very pleased that Filtration Group is in a position to give the industrial filtration business a boost,” explained Wolf-Henning Scheider, chairman of the Mahle management board and CEO.
