Elomatic acquires cruise engineering specialist Ablemans LCS Oy
Turku-based engineering firm, Elomatic, has bought Ablemans LCS Oy (ALCS), a cruise ship docking, refit, and technical service specialist. The acquisition will broaden Elomatic’s service provision in the marine sector, taking the company beyond design to hands-on project servicing.
The combination of ALCS’s expertise in fleetwide conversions and technical upgrades with Elomatic’s expertise in fuel and energy efficiency initiatives, the company is now well-placed to provide shipowners with a complete service in establishing and achieving demand sustainability goals., the company said.
Elomatic plans to expand into technologies including battery energy storage, air lubrication, scrubber conversions, future fuel upgrades, and life-saving appliances. Combining these systems with the company’s existing patented ElogridTM tunnel thruster grid system will provide a foundation for developing comprehensive fuel savings and energy efficiency systems, the company said.
