Managing director of Aktis Hydraulics, David Hurdle, said: “Operating as an independent company is a very exciting opportunity for us and gives us the flexibility that we need as a niche player, while maintaining good relations with BMT. We will continue to deliver expertise in the areas of local winds, coastal wave conditions, ship response, channel depth, mooring design and the interaction of pipelines and other structures with the seabed.”
Speaking for BMT Ship & Coastal Dynamics, managing director Dr Phil Thompson noted that synergies between the two companies remain strong and both would leverage their niche skills to support maritime engineering projects. “BMT Ship & Coastal Dynamics Ltd will continue to develop its services and products in the commercial shipping, floating oil and gas, ports and legal sector,” he said.
