United Heavy Lift signs up for Kongsberg vessel performance software
Germany’s United Heavy Lift GmbH is now using Coach Solutions to assist with digitalisation and reducing its environmental footprint

Hamburg-headquartered United Heavy Lift GmbH (UHL) is adopting Kongsberg’s Coach Solutions, a vessel performance and optimisation service, to increase operational efficiency and reduce its environmental footprint.
UHL’s fleet of heavy-lift and project cargo transporters operates worldwide, often carrying large, awkward and sensitive cargo consigments in challenging sea areas. Voyage optimisation made possible by the Coach Solutions System will support personnel in both commercial and operational decision-making, the company said.
Jan-Ove Hohl, UHL’s general manager Operations, commented: “We are very happy to have signed up with Coach Solutions. We can monitor the actual performance of our vessels in our fleet with one, easy to implement, smart tool, helping us decrease emissions and our environmental footprint. Additionally, our captains receive valuable weather routeing advice to take the most economical route, maximising value and keeping our sensitive cargo safe.”

Coach’s vessel performance software was originally developed by Denmark’s Clipper Group to provide ship operators, owners, pool managers and technical personnel with support in vessel management, noon reporting and weather routeing. Coach Solutions was acquired by Kongsberg Digital in June 2020.
