Telenor and Globetech announce collaboration deal

Norway’s state energy firm, Telenor Maritime, and Globetech AS, a Kristiansand-based information, communications, technology (ICT) company, have signed a collaboration agreement to develop new business and extend market reach.

Globetech’s worldwide services, embracing ICT installations for vessels and offshore installations, will be strengthened by Telenor Maritime’s portfolio of connectivity options, the companies said. The agreement will enable them to identify business opportunities and to offer jointly a wider range of commercial ICT systems to potential clients.

Recognising rising demand for top-quality and high-capacity connectivity in cyber-secure systems, the partners will undertake use-case reviews to identify products and services suitable for joint promotion. The result should be a wider range of innovative and tailored arrangements to meet the needs of marine and offshore customers, they said in a statement.
