Stromag Wind Energy Products

In over 25 years Stromag France has gained an excellent reputation as a developer and manufacturer of intelligent braking systems for wind turbines and has therefore become an indispensable partner on the wind power market.

Following reorganisation the development and marketing engineers of Stromag France and Stromag Unna will operate together under the umbrella of Stromag WEP. The Stromag Group will be drawing strength for its activities on the wind power market from Stromag WEP by deploying an additional design team in Unna to focus on the German wind power market. This new development team will be provided with support and market access from the established sales organisation and its experienced experts. The wind power experts from Stromag France will be collaborating closely with the Unna team in the development of innovative products for the wind power market.

The testing centre for disc brakes will remain in La Guerche (France). As Stromag reports, the test rigs allow the responsible engineers to verify their theoretical calculations and ensure that the customer receives tried and tested and highly reliable products for every application.

One example of the power of innovation at Stromag WEP is the new rotor brake calliper BCHM 90 that is setting standards in wind power technology. This active rotor brake features e.g. a patented CR system (control return for friction linings) that constantly keeps response times short and at the same time serves as an adjuster for wear.
