Offshore crane orders for US, Canadian and Russian customers

MacGregor AHC offshore crane

The cranes are destined for three vessels being built for US, Russian and Canadian customers.

• For the US shipowner, Cargotec will deliver an advanced MacGregor 100-tonne active heave-compensated (AHC) offshore crane with operational capability at depths of 3,000m. The crane is scheduled for installation during early 2010 on one of the operator’s existing vessels.

• For a new-build government-owned research vessel under construction at a Russian shipyard, two 12-tonne knuckle-jib MacGregor cranes will be delivered and installed in 2010.

• For the Canadian order, a knuckle-jib crane will be delivered to an offshore vessel under construction at Halifax Shipyard, with a delivery date planned for early next year.

Cargotec has recently won new orders for MacGregor offshore cranes, demonstrating the buoyancy that still remains in the offshore market.
