Kongsberg and MAN to formalise digital partnership

Kongsberg Digital and MAN Energy Solutions are to provide joint digital infrastructure for vessels in the Høegh Autoliners fleet. The project will mark the first step in the two companies’ digital partnership, formalising plans set out in a Memorandum of Understanding signed in October 2019.
The combination of information from Kongsberg’s Vessel Insight and engine data from MAN’s PrimeServ Assist will enable the companies to provide a more holistic picture for the majority of vessels with MAN two-stroke engines, the companies said.

Høegh Autoliners’ head of Technical Operations, Geir Frode Abelsen, noted that the Kongsberg/MAN collaboration is an important step towards the utilisation of digital systems in optimising the running and maintenance of ship’s engines in a safe and effective way.
