Ferries galore at Greece’s Perama Repair Zone

Many Greek and international owners repair their vessels at the Perama Repair Zone, near the port of Piraeus, using the drydocks owned by the Port of Piraeus Authority and the specialist services of the many local, independent ship repair companies.

The week beginning April 8th saw a total of five locally owned passenger ferries undergoing repair at this facility:

  • Blue Star Myconos – 14,251gt 2005-built RoPax ferry, owned by Greece’s Blue Star Ferries (Attica Group)
  • Blue Star Paros – 10,438gt 2002-built RoPax ferry, owned by Blue Star Ferries (Attica Group)
  • Kefalonia – 3,924gt 1975-built RoPax ferry, owned by Greece’s Levante Ferries
  • Golden Bridge – 26,463gt 1990-built RoPax ferry, owners not known
  • Galaxy – 10,553gt 1979-built RoPax ferry, owned by Italy’s Interconsult, Bari, and managed by Italy’s Genship & Naval, Messina
