Norwegian maritime systems supplier Brunvoll is to undertake DP2 systems upgrades to the two PSVs, the 4,000dwt 2009-built Stril Mermaid and the 3,755dwt 2009-built Stril Mariner, owned by Norway’s Simon Møkster Shipping.

In addition to replacing the existing DP2 systems on the two vessels, Brunvoll will also replace the current propulsion and thruster controls as well as the independent joystick control system. The new systems to be fitted include BruCon DP2, BruCon PTC and BruCon JS.

The upgrade will ensure even better coordination and dynamics from multiple control positions on the bridge to the manoeuvring units located below the waterline.

This new contract follows on from the upgrade to BruCon DP2 on Stavanger-based Møkster’s 5,298dwt 2016-built Stril Mar, which was the first delivery of this dynamic positioning system to a vessel. Installation, testing and approval of this installation took place at the beginning of 2024.
