Gothenburg to offer LNG bunkering with new facility from MAN Cryo

MAN Cryo will be responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the bunkering plant which will be operated by Swedegas in cooperation with the port authority when it is commissioned next year.
Vessels will be able to take LNG bunkers on board from trucks or containers at two jetties in Gothenburg’s Energy Port whilst simultaneously working cargo. This will provide increased flexibility and offer significant time savings. The facility will include a discharge station for LNG trailers and containers, feeding pumps, vacuum-insulated piping and bunkering equipment.
Mikael Adler, managing director of MAN Diesel & Turbo in Sweden, said: “We are very happy to have won the contract to build this first such bunkering facility in the important Port of Gothenburg. Our strategy to offer LNG solutions to the marine market, both on board vessels as fuel-gas supply systems but also as bunkering infrastructure, dovetails perfectly with the general development towards cleaner ship propulsion.”

Swedish infrastructure company Swedegas and MAN Cryo, MAN Diesel & Turbo’s marine LNG fuel system manufacturer, have signed a contract for a new LNG bunkering facility in the Port of Gothenburg.
